Biota Nutri joins forces with De Groot en Slot and REKA
Biota Nutri BV joins forces with family business De Groot en Slot and REKA Group BV. Biota develops, produces and distributes organic fertilizers for agriculture and horticulture, offering sustainable solutions to the challenges faced in vegetable and floriculture production.
This direction aligns closely with De Groot en Slot’s vision for a sustainable future for the sector. As a market leader in onion seed and active in the garden center industry as well as in the development of seaweed propagation material, De Groot en Slot represents innovation, quality and sustainability across various markets within the agricultural sector. In addition to De Groot en Slot, REKA Group BV is also participating in Biota. REKA is a carve-out from Koppert Biological Systems and builds on decades of expertise in soil health and regenerative agriculture. The company began in 2013 as part of Koppert and became an independent entity in 2024.
With REKA’s global distribution network and the experience and scope of De Groot en Slot, combined with Biota’s unique products and expertise, the three companies will ensure that Biota continues to grow. This collaboration will accelerate the development of proprietary circular methods for producing organic and vegan fertilizers from commercial residual streams, as well as the global distribution of Biota products.
