Biota Nutri BV joins forces with Family Business De Groot en Slot and REKA Group BV. Biota develops, produces and distributes organic fertilizers for agriculture and horticulture, offering sustainable solutions to the challenges faced in vegetable and floriculture.

This partnership combines REKA’s global scale and the experience and network of De Groot en Slot with Biota’s unique product lines to expand production and inventories to meet the current market demands for organic fertilizers.This investment by De Groot en Slot and REKA will accelerate the development of proprietary circular methods of producing organic and vegan fertilizers from commercial waste streams, and the worldwide delivery of Biota products.

De Groot and Slot is active in the breeding and production of onion seeds, garden retail and the breeding and production of seaweed starting materials. De Groot en Slot values innovation, quality and sustainability in various markets within the agricultural sector.

REKA is a carve-out of Koppert Biological Systems and builds on decades of expertise in soil health and regenerative agriculture. The company began as part of Koppert in 2013 and became an independent entity in 2024.
