How it Works
The ONP works with specific Biota nitrifying bacteria, that are fed a fully vegetal Biota Nitrogen solution.
The nitrogen compounds are broken down into ammonia and then converted into nitrate by the bacteria.
Constant Nitrate
The ONP can be used in different ways. A large scale bioreactor can provide year round nitrate needs of all your crops. A smaller system can be used for baseline production, to supply the demand of nitrate in the colder months. In the warmer months, the system is supported by adding another source of nitrate through the traditional fertilizer tanks.

Nitrate Production
- The Biota ONP system is a proprietary design with multiple components
- The bioreactor is the home of the bacteria where the nitrification happens
- The nitrate production silo feeds the Bioreactor an enriched solution of Biota vegetal Nitrogen at the inlet (4)
- A nanobubble pump aerates the mixtures to accelerate the aerobic nitrification
- Process and the solution is circulated continuously to achieve the required concentration of nitrate for your crop
- The ONPS mixing unit acts as a third fertilizer tank to reduce the variations in temperature, nitrate concentration, pH and other factors in the bioreactor.
- After irrigation, the drain water will be filtered and reused after oxygenation.
